Dual Occupancy with Auxiliary unit (Dual Occ)
These are properties with 2 fully self-contained units or houses on the one block. Comprising a main dwelling and a smaller auxiliary dwelling. The auxiliary dwelling will typically have a number of size and space restrictions required by council. Common formats are 3-4 bedrooms for the main dwelling and 1-2 bedrooms for the auxiliary. They may be separate or adjoining but typically due to space and costs are adjoined separated by a fire wall.

  • The tenants in each dwelling do not have to be related.
  • Each dwelling has separate water and electricity meters, entrances and letter boxes
  • Each dwelling will typically have at least 1 designated parking space
  • There is not the option to subdivide and sell off each dwelling separately
